Director and Nominated Supervisor, Early Childhood Teacher
After completing my High School Certificate in 2009 at Lumen Christi Catholic College, I began working at Shorebreakers Kindergarten in 2010 as a Trainee completing my Certificate III in children’s services. I then went on to continue studying and completed my Diploma in Children’s Services through TAFE and my Bachelor of Education- Birth to 5 Teaching through Charles Sturt University whilst also working fulltime at Shorebreakers.
I believe the first 5 years in a child’s life are the most crucial for their learning and development and working in the early childhood sector provides me with the opportunity to help children learn and grow in a safe, fun and engaging environment. After 9 years of working as an educator with the children, I have now taken on the role of Director. I look forward to this new challenge and can’t wait to see everyone’s smiling faces as they walk through the front door.
Nominated Supervisor and Preschool Room Leader - Early Childhood Teacher, Bachelor of Early Childhood Education
I grew up in the Bega Valley, leaving for university and recently returning to continue my life here. I completed my Bachelor of Education - The Early Years in 2014 and have since worked in various roles within early childhood. My belief is that children should have many opportunities throughout the day to play. Play is an invaluable tool that teaches children social, emotional, cognitive and physical skills, while most importantly, having fun! My favourite part of my day is when the children arrive and they are so excited to share something from their lives with me, it's a heart warming moment.
Educational Leader - Transition Room Leader - Early Childhood Teacher, Bachelor in Teaching
I have been teaching for over 30 years with a lot of my time spent teaching infants and primary. I particularly enjoy teaching in Early Childhood Education as I get to interact with children in a natural and relaxed environment where I can discover their interests and strengths and how they like to learn. I can then use this information to create programs that are child-centred and enhance their learning. I have further training as a Reading Recovery Teacher and I have a great interest in fostering children's pre-reading skills through sharing my love of children's literature with them.
