Early Childhood Teacher

Shorebreakers Kindergarten, Early Learning Centre, is looking for a qualified Early Childhood Teacher to join our team. We have a full time maternity relief position available until January 2018.

The availability of this position may possibly be extended beyond January 2018 depending on the Centre’s requirements.

The successful applicant will be responsible for developing and implementing a programme of care and education.

  • Teaching and Caring for children
  • Liaising with and developing relationships with parents and caregivers
  • Documenting and maintaining programs and observations
  • Actively promote learning through play
  • Contribute to the preparation of learning environments in order to promote safe play based learning
  • Providing supervision and assistance to other educators in the room
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Hold a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) or Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood) as recognised by ACECQA or have completed at least 50% of the qualification.
  • A current working with children check and first aid certificate
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the National Quality Standards (NQS), including contemporary knowledge in Early Childhood Practice.
  • Be focused on providing quality childcare by constantly striving to improve in all areas
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to inspire, motivate and maintain a positive learning culture within the Centre for children, for your families and for your Educator colleagues.

Childcare Educator

Shorebreakers Kindergarten, Early Learning Centre, is looking for a casual Early Childhood Educator to join our team.
The availability of this position may possibly turn into permanent part time depending on the centre’s requirements.
The successful applicant will be responsible for implementing a programme of care and education.
Working in a team environment, you will be flexible in your approach, able to easily multi task and have the ability to use your initiative and problem solve any conflicts in a reflective and positive manner. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and will utilise clear communication when dealing with parents, within team meetings and in face-to-face situations.

Qualifications and Experience:
• Certificate III or Diploma qualification in Children’s Services or equivalent;
• Current First Aid Certificate/Asthma & Anaphylaxis certificates;
• Effective oral and written communication within the workplace;
• A current working with children check
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the National Quality Standards (NQS), including contemporary knowledge in Early Childhood Practice.
